Golf Moose ran a voucher for a MFAD and I got to play this private course right before it ended. $130 for a twosome. Pancake flat layout that runs thru a housing development. I see they did maintenance about a month ago but you wouldn’t know it. Greens beat up,pebbles in bunkers. It’s basically the same as it was a month ago.

First off, I love this beautiful challenging course. Been playing there more often recently but some of the decisions by the management have left me cold.
For two scheduled tournaments they pulled some weird stunts;

I have always thought of Recreation Park as one of my favorite municipal courses to play. While certainly not the best or most difficult of the Long Beach courses, it is just a fun relaxing track. Used to play here quire often when I lived in Westchester, but now living in Orange County, coupled with the cost now to play here, just don't have the desire to play here much anymor... » More

Played this morning. Course is in good shape other than the bunkers. Between the non raking and hard sand it is becoming a real problem. Begining to feel like what Montebello use to be like and thats not good. Tee boxes are all playable. Fairways have good coverage so lies are good and there is decent roll out as well.
